a film to star
« on: September 11, 2013, 10:20:22 pm »
Which are correct:

1-This poster was designed for an unproduced film to star Cary Grant.

2-This poster was designed for an unproduced film which was to star Cary Grant.

3-That was an unproduced film to star Cary Grant.

4-That was an unproduced film which was to star Cary Grant.

Gratefully,
Navi.

They all work. But I would prefer...

Quote
1-This poster was designed for an unproduced film to star Cary Grant.
2-This poster was designed for an unproduced film which was to star Cary Grant.

3-That was an unproduced film to star Cary Grant.
4-That was an unproduced film which was to star Cary Grant.

This poster was designed for a film to star Cary Grant which was never produced.
It was a film designed/destined to star Cary Grant; but it was never produced.
Best wishes,

Duncan
