What is difference between than and rather than?How do you use then in a sentence?than vs then.

Better than. In a sentence:
Asking a question about the usage of a word is better than not knowing.

Of course you can have 'better then', but I don't think that is the context you are referring to.
It is possible:
After a severe illness, you should rest. You will feel much better then.

than is comparativethen is temporal
If it's not used by a native speaker it's not idiomatic. And idiom trumps grammar every time. Jack Wilkerson†
