Hi all,

Please comment which relative pronoun is correctly used in the following sentence.

'Being outspoken and articulate, Ella was nominated to take part in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (where/ in which) she was the First Runner-up in English Solo Verse Speaking.

Either way is commonly used, but I prefer "in which" since one enters a contest in which they may be a winner.
