Bertha --- What kinds of colorful trees does Oklahoma have in autumn? They must be different from ours, which are notably maples (so-called Japanese maples) and ginkos, red and yellow. --- tk

Parts of Oklahoma have a nice show of trees changing color. Those include a mix of oaks (gold/yellow), hackberry (yellow), maples (especially silver maple that turn red), elms (yellow), sweetgum (orange/red), and sumac (red), with other foliage mixed in. We have a park across the street which has one very large maple tree that often produces a love dark red. The eastern parts of Oklahoma have many more hills/mountains with forests, so people take drives to see the fall colors mostly in October. Some years are better than others.
