Written tasks or writing tasks
« on: August 13, 2013, 03:10:43 pm »
Upon completion of the course, employees are able to do simple written tasks / writing tasks.

Which one is more appropriate, written tasks or writing tasks? Why?

Please advise.

Written - they are tasks that are written.

Thanks Duncan, but it seems that 'writing tasks' is also possible, as the '-ing' implies the purpose of writing.

Great if you advise again.

Thanks, but how about in headings like the following?

Writing Task (or Written Task)
Please write a letter to ...

Can we use 'Writing Task' as a heading?

Many thanks
