Prepositions in/on
« on: October 09, 2013, 06:16:38 am »
Hi all,

I am confused with the use of in/on when it is put before 'answer sheet' or paper. Which one is correct or both are acceptable?

Thanks in advance!
Cindy

I think this is pretty much a matter of taste. You have the same problem with in/on the internet, for example.
The advice I've been given was: decide for a variant and be consistent. There is no right and wrong here.
If it's not used by a native speaker it's not idiomatic. And idiom trumps grammar every time. Jack Wilkerson†

Sorry to disagree with Britta - but it has to be "on" for me in this context.
Best wishes,
