I cannot remember the last time we had any decent rain here in southern England. It has been in the upper 20s and even up to 30 / 31 / 32 for a good solid month. I think it last really rained in early June. We've had a few thunderstorm warnings, and a few places have had a storm, but not at my house. The grass everywhere is brown (unless it is mostly in the shade). Some trees have lost so many leaves it looks like October rather than July. We have lost several plants in the garden, despite watering assiduously every evening - I dread to see our water bill. The water butt has been empty for weeks and weeks. The news warns us of shortages of lettuce, peas, and now milk! (There isn't enough decent grass for the cows, so they'll produce less milk.)
