There is little difference in the skills required and the names are often used interchangeably.
EFL - English as a foreign language is usually used when the student does not live in an English speaking country.
ESOL - English to speakers of other languages is usually used when a non-native speaker of English lives in an English speaking country.

TEFL is Teaching English as a Foreign Language, this qualification concentrates on teaching the skills needed to teach English in another country, where students are not native-English speakers. The benefit of a TEFL qualification is that it’s easily the most widely recognizable and highly regarded qualification of its kind around the world and TESOL Teaching English to Speakers of another Language,is newer and gives some flexibility as to whether you teach English overseas or in a native-English speaking country. However, while these courses may cover a broader range of topics, they tend to study them in less depth.I hope this will be helpful for you.

No I am afraid not.

This is a useful and informative site http://www.global-english.com/news/online-tefltesol-or-celta/

Make sure you do not buy a "qualification" that is not worth the paper it is printed on.
Best wishes,

Duncan

TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Both certifications qualify you to train English as a Foreign Language (ESL) in non-English speaking countries. TEFL has been around longer than TESOL and is more extensively-identified.

Edit: Thank you for your answer. Commercial link deleted.

Another point regarding TEFL / TESOL qualifications, as with all certificates and qualifications, what is valid in one country may not be valid in another. My daughter taught English in Peru for nearly a year with a qualification she gained via online study. This qualification would not be accepted in Britain, nor is in Switzerland, where she is now attending classes to gain the qualification needed there.

TEFL refers to teaching English to students who live in a country where English is not the official language. TESOL, on the other hand, has a slightly broader definition ? as it refers to teaching English to non-native English speakers wherever they live in the world.

However, outside of North America, TEFL and (slightly less commonly) TESOL are both used as catch-all terms for English language teaching to non-native English speakers ? regardless of where the teaching takes place.
