Oggle or Oogle, it doesn't matter. You would enjoy Australia's beaches, Gene. I think perhaps we are a little more liberal with beach wear here. Many of the girls choose to wear the bottom half only and on some beaches, none at all. Not sure if your U.S. beaches allow that.

Darryl:

Yep....................we are much too prudish to have female charms fully displayed. A beach officer would stop by and issue a citation to the ladies.

I noticed that people in Europe, especilly along the Riveria, are very liberal in their attitude toward sexuality.

In my many trips to OZ, I never observed any vulgar displays of flesh. The  OZ women seem to be interested more in sunbathing than displaying skin.

At any rate, I still enjoy oogling girls in bikinis............................................GG

On hot summer days I use to take off my shirts on my hikings.  You would not believe that I received comments for that!  --- tk

I also go shirtless when the weather permits, and have also received comments. I can understand (barely, no pun intended) that most people would prefer men to wear shirts inside places, but cannot understand why some people don't like it when men are shirtless outdoors. If nothing else, think of how we are helping the environment by wearing fewer clothes thus producing less laundry to be done!

I had to read this thread because of the given subject line.  Just to set things straight, there is a difference between the two words "oogle" and "ogle."

Check the various definitions of "oogle" here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=oogle

Check the definition for "ogle" here: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ogle

I think you'll see the difference.

Ogle it is then  ;D

By the way, Gene, citation, has an altogether positive sense in BrE - but, maybe, it is the same with the officer on the beech.  See http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/citation?s=t 8)

But you go shirtless when the weather permits, while I went shirtless when the weather did not permit a shirt.  --- tk

Well, well. Trying to invade this male discussion...
With a fair skin like mine (or my husband's, for that matter) you'd be peeling the skin off your shoulders after about 15 minutes. It's never a question of necessity, it's a question of taste. Personally, with about 90% of the shirtless men I see, I'd rather they kept their shirts on, to be honest  :o (looking to nobody in particuar for their facebook pics, hrhrhr).  ::)  I have to admit that there are exceptions, though.  8)
If it's not used by a native speaker it's not idiomatic. And idiom trumps grammar every time. Jack Wilkerson†

I cannot disagree with Britta's comment that it is a question of taste, but without meaning to sound nasty, would also like to add that there are also people who could do something to improve their shape or size, shirtless or not. But let's not go down that road.
