maybe not
« on: February 16, 2020, 08:58:55 pm »
a. Maybe everybody is not impressed by you.
b. Maybe not everybody is impressed by you.

c. Maybe everybody you meet is not impressed by you.
d. Maybe not everybody you meet is impressed by you.

Which are grammatically correct and meaningful?

Aren't (a) and (c) ambiguous? I think they might mean that nobody is impressed by you or that only some people are impressed by you.

Many thanks.
