We have had no internet/phone for the past two weeks. Apparently, according to Telstra, it is difficult to find technicians who are skilled in repairing the old copper lines that we, in the backblocks, have to put up with. Finally a tech arrived today and sorted the problem. every time we get monsoonal rain the phone lines go out.
I see on TV some very heavy rain and flooding in Wales. Wondering how Duncan got on in Shropshire, just across the border. All Ok, Duncan?

Of course, Duncan has first hand knowledge of the situation, but I heard from his daughter Kate through Facebook that they are okay. They have some water in their basement, but the general area has flooding. She posted a photo taken from the air that shows the entire valley underwater.  Lots of folks have been affected.  The Severn River overflowed and it runs through Shropshire along with its tributaries.

There are places in Southern Queensland that have been in drought for several years and some towns were trucking in supplies of water as their dams dried up. Now, those same places are sandbagging their homes as the rain they prayed for came with a vengeance. The benefits far outweigh the inconvenience though, and they are all smiling.
We have had some monsoonal falls here in the north, but nothing extraordinary. Just a normal Wet. High humidity, mould and mosquitoes but that's OK. At least our rain is warm.
Hope things dry out for you soon, Duncan.
