The rainbow lorikeet is trying hard to impress the kookaburra, to no avail. The kookaburra even has a yawn!

I've seen lorikeets behave like this towards other lorikeets, but not with a kookaburra! Lorikeets' antics are an endless source of amusement for us. Here's a bunch on our pond this morning. The colourful ones are rainbow lorikeets and the others are scaly-breasted lorikeets.

I've seen lorikeets behave like this towards other lorikeets, but not with a kookaburra!

They wanted the more impressive Partner!  8)  Can you blame them?  ::)
