a dog-skin glove
« on: November 03, 2018, 03:07:12 am »
I am surprised to find that only about a century ago people in the west proudly wore articles in dog-skin.  --- tk

But Leonora's seemed to conduct your gaze always to her wrist. And the wrist was at its best in a black or a dog-skin glove and there was always a gold circlet with a little chain supporting a very small golden key to a dispatch box.  (from The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford; a larger context is here; use ctrl-f to locate the sentence)
