Ah, we have a forum once again!  Duncan, do you have the list of suggestions I sent you a few days ago?

Arrived at last.

Duncan, this registring business really is a pain, intelligence test and all.
I also needed several tries to activate my registration be cause I wasn't quite sure which fields to fill in. It all seemed to be about having registered with the wrong email address.

I have a real problem with those distorted letters. Will we have to put up with those questions all the time?

2nd question is "What colour is the sky?". Well, it's sort of greyish-white but that probably won't get me through, would it?

Anyway, I'm here  :)

You only have to do it for the post and, I am afraid, is necessary.

Thanks for being here though - about to add you as a moderator :-)

I am glad to see Britta is back, and I had to chuckle at her comments about the colour of the sky, because I thought the same thing, too! At least the letters that we need to copy are fairly clear to read - I have seen other sites where it is a real puzzle, particularly with lowercase letters that have a "tail" hanging down - is it a "g" or a "q"?

Is there a way to automatically delete users who haven't been on after X amount of time? It seems to me that when I first visited the Lydbury site, many years ago, my ID became inactive after a month as I hadn't re-visited. That would be a way to eliminate spammers, perhaps?

Yes indeed. Let's let it settle first. There seems to be a tremendous burst of "joiners" when it first goes up but it is settling down now.

Well, this is not to complain, but I never received the activation email and Duncan had to "activate" my membership.  Then, this morning, I had an email from Darryl whose activation email arrived but he said the link didn't work.  When I clicked on it, the activation worked.  Not sure what all might be wrong in the system.  He should be here soon, too, as I sent him notification that he's activated now.

I'm like Davel about those scrambled letters.  They aren't as bad as some I've seen either.  Here in Oklahoma, the sky is nearly always quite blue, so that helped me. Now, grass can be a little trickier.  If it had been last summer, the grass was pretty brown here because of our long period of extreme heat and drought.  That ended this spring with those big storms we had, but look at the price we paid!

Keep spreading the word to members of the former forum.

Bertha - that was on the former board. I didn't activate you on this one.

Sorry it is more difficult to log in - but such is life these days I am afraid.

I will see what I can find out about Darryl.

I really never got an activation email for this version either.  Just saying.

Looks as if this is only necessary on the very first post you make. That's a relief. 8)

Yes, I'm finally here. Thanks Duncan and Bertha for your help. I know Gene has been anxious to get back on. I'll check to see how he's going.
Interesting new format. I'm not a fan of orange, but that top panel reminds me of a western Queensland sunset so that's nice.
Maybe I'll find a photo and be the first to try a pic on this new board.  :) (I see a few new smileys there too.)
