did the church stand or stood the church

Do you think both (A) and (B) sound natural?

(A) At the top of the hill did the church stand!
(B) At the top of the hill stood the church!

If not, would you please tell me the reason for that?

Thanks in advance.

I can only accept choice (A) if it is in a poem, and even then, I don't like it. It sounds as though the author has manipulated the words in order to force a poem to rhyme.

(B) would be better if the wording was re-ordered: "The church stood at the top of the hill."

I agree with davel's thoughts about A.

B would be acceptable if it were to start a list: At the op of the hill stood the church, the post office and two small shops.
Best wishes,
