I couldn't still find a nice thing to dump at Washington DC that rhymes with 'snow'.  'Dough' would not work; neither would 'Bordeaux' or 'pernod'...  --- tk

Australia has everything at the moment. Tasmania is on fire, Adelaide was the hottest city in the world yesterday, 49 degrees C in Port Augusta, Cyclone Ryan off the WA coast and Cyclone Savannah about to give us a touch-up here in NQ. Never a dull moment.

Thanks, Darryl.  So it was not what rhymes with 'snow' but with 'dump'!

I found these that rhyme with 'snow' and that I would dump on someone I don't like: GMO and chemo!

Hope everything goes well down there!  --- tk

It's a bit wet here. Daintree had nearly half a metre of rain on Saturday night. We'll have webbed feet soon. Tropics!

We have had an unusually wet winter with lots of rain. We may have drought this coming summer!  At the moment, much of the eastern half of the US is having a rough spell of subzero temperatures, the coldest in decades, and lots of blizzards.  Here in Oklahoma, our temperatures have dipped but not as bad as places such as Chicago, Atlanta, and New York City and everywhere in between. Brrrrr.

I saw some TV footage of Chicago, Bertha. They were urging people to stay indoors and if they go outside not to breathe the cold air deeply because you can get frostbite. That sounds a bit odd to me but maybe it's true. I have no experience with such low temps.

Light sprinkling of snow here. Cold but dry and bright. Lovely. :)

Yes, it's terribly cold right now in Chicago and other locations up in the northern states and eastward.  And, yes, at those temperatures, it is possible to get frostbite internally if one breathes deeply.  I know when I was a kid, growing up in New York State, we had some very cold times, but being kids, we would go outdoors anyway.  It was a common feeling to have the inside of one's nose feel frozen momentarily when breathing in.  Any moisture instantly froze.  Imagine if it got down into the lungs!  In other words, today is not one to go out for a run around the track.

From bad to worse. Catastrophic flooding in Townsville. If you have a prayer to spare, the people of Townsville need it now.  :'(
